What each tool does

Image Compressor

To reduce image file size, lower the JPG or WebP quality to around 70–80% and resize the image to the width actually needed, such as 1920 px for websites or 1200 px for email. This usually cuts file size by 60–90% with little visible change. WebP files are typically 25–34% smaller than JPG at equal quality.

Photo Resizer (Passport & Visa)

A US passport or visa photo is 2 × 2 inches; digital uploads must be square, between 600 × 600 and 1200 × 1200 pixels, and under 240 KB for the DS-160. UK passport photos are 35 × 45 mm in print and at least 600 × 750 pixels digitally. Schengen and Indian passport photos are usually 35 × 45 mm.

Image Converter

JPG suits photos and is accepted almost everywhere but has no transparency. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, so it suits logos and screenshots. WebP gives files about 25–35% smaller than JPG at similar quality and is supported by all modern browsers. iPhone HEIC photos can be converted to JPG in Safari.

Signature Generator

To create an online signature, sign on the pad with your finger, stylus or mouse, then download it. A transparent PNG works best for placing over documents; JPG with a white background suits forms that need a fixed size. For forms that cap the file at 20 KB, the downloaded JPG is usually small enough, or you can shrink it further with the signature resizer.
