Why merge PDFs in the browser?
Most PDF websites upload your files to their servers to process them. For a job application or a visa file that may be fine, but for bank statements, payslips, lab reports or ID scans it means handing private documents to a company you know nothing about. This tool uses pdf-lib, an open-source PDF library, inside your browser. The files are read from your own disk, combined in memory and saved straight back to you.
Common reasons to combine PDFs
Visa and immigration portals often accept only one upload per section, so supporting documents have to go into a single PDF. Universities ask for transcripts and certificates in one file. Accountants want a year of statements together. Merging also makes email attachments tidier.
What gets kept
Pages are copied exactly, including text, images, fonts and page size. Bookmarks and form fields from the original files may not carry over. Password-protected PDFs need to be opened and saved without a password first.
Have photos or scans rather than PDFs? Turn them into a PDF first with JPG to PDF, then combine the files here. Need fewer pages instead? You can split the PDF and keep only the pages you want.
Frequently asked questions
How do I merge PDF files for free?
Add the PDFs, arrange them in order and press Merge. The combined PDF downloads at once, with no sign-up or watermark.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Merging happens inside your browser and the files never leave your device.
Is there a file limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files depend on your device's memory, so a phone may struggle with hundreds of megabytes.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not directly. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then merge.
